A
WORKSHOP on using the Arabic dictionary was recenly held at Sekolah
Arab Belait (SAB) – the first of its kind organised by the school.
Twenty-five Year Seven and Eight students from five Arabic schools in
Brunei – the host school, Sekolah Arab Sungai Akar, Sekolah Ugama Arab
Menengah Perempuan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit (SUAMRIPAD), Sekolah
Persediaan Arab Temburong and Ma’had Islam Brunei – participated in the
course.
SAB Principal Hjh Normalina Hj Muhd Ali
said that the target students were chosen as they have just stepped
into the secondary level, and thus might face difficulties in learning
Arabic language.
“With this programme, students can gain
the knowledge and skills to find the meaning of Arabic sentences by
identifying the basic words to speed up the translation,” said the
principal during the event.
She also hoped that the participants
will share their experience and skills with their fellow classmates and
outside of school to increase their Arabic vocabulary and familiarise
their use in sentences.
